The Norfin – Sociedade Gestora de Organismos de Investimento Coletivo, S.A., hereinafter referred to as Norfin, defined a Sustainability Policy that allows it to outline and provide guidelines for the implemented framework and the respective initiatives developed in this area.
Hence, and although at the present date it does not hold the management of real estate investment organizations that promote, among others, environmental or social features (“light green” products, provided for in article 8 of the SFDR) or that have sustainable investment goals (“dark green” products, mentioned in article 9 of the SFDR), as a corporate entity, Norfin develops concrete actions within the environmental, social and governance spectrum. (ESG).
Norfin is well aware of its activity impact and, whenever possible, it ponders upon designing its product, in its investment decisions and in the operational management of the Real Estate Investment Entities (OII, the Portuguese acronym for Organismos de Investimento Imobiliário ), on the risks and impacts to the ESG elements, taking as a
priority the fiduciary duties it undertakes before the participants, under the applicable legal provisions, but also the investment policy established in the Management Regulation and incorporation documents of each Real Estate Investment Entity (OII).
The weighting of sustainability risks always adopts the principle of proportionality and takes into account the nature, scale and complexity of the activities carried out.
The identification, assessment and management of ESG risks is integrated in Norfin’s Risk Management framework, whose methodology is established by an internal Policy and Procedure.
The weighting of sustainable criteria within the scope of its activity is in alignment with its mission and values, namely in terms of environmental and social sustainability, giving it an active role in creating value for its participants and society in general
